Mechatronics Design Project: Hammer Head Thrust

 

Hammer head thrust is a robot Olympian by design. Built as part of the Mechatronics Design Project at the University of Cape Town. The robot has the following capabilities:

  • Line following using LDR

  • Edge Detection using Sona

  • Motorised jaw

  • H-Bridge driven 4D motion control

Hammer head thrust successfully completed the prescribed olympic course and fought with great honour in the Tug of War contest before being mercilessly drag by a mightier opponent.
